ROOMS:
All of our 50 Long Term Care rooms are private rooms with private bathrooms. Rooms are furnished with a bed, night table, desk and chair. Residents may bring small pieces of personal furniture that do not obstruct movement within the room for yourself, care givers and housekeeping staff. Personal items such as pictures, clocks and quilts are encouraged as this will personalize the resident's room. Radios and televisions are permitted and must be checked for CSA approval by maintenance staff.

SERVICES:

Nursing/Medical Services
Registered nursing staff are on duty 24 hours a day. The resident's physician will visit on a regular basis.

Meal Service
Residents will have their meals in the main dining area. Three meals and refreshments, as well as special diets, are provided to ensure both optimum nutrition and an enjoyable dining experience.

Spiritual Care
Spiritual Care is an integral part of the total care of the person which provides emotional and spiritual support to all residents and their families according to their individual needs. The Spiritual Care staff will visit new residents on admission and inform them of their Services.


Recreation Therapy
Residents are encouraged to participate in organized activities such as exercise periods, bingo, films, crafts, picnics, birthday parties, etc.


Laundry
Personal clothing laundry service is provided at no additional charge. Clothing must be clearly labeled and washable. If clothing is not marked, it will be sent to the seamstress for identification. Simple alterations and mending will be done in-house. A two (2) week supply of clothing is recommended.

Visiting Hours
The home does not have any specific time designated as visiting hours.


Liquor Policy
Alcoholic beverages are permitted in various instances. All resident's alcohol is stored in the pharmacy.


Smoking Policy
On November 1, 1999, the Foyer d'Youville will be a totally smoke-free environment for all. Any resident who wishes to smoke, may do so outside.


Valuables
Residents are discouraged from having valuables in their possession. It is preferable that money above the amount of $10.00 be deposited in the main office for safekeeping.

Mobility Aids
Residents are asked to bring any mobility aids they require such as wheelchairs, walkers and canes.


SERVICE FOR YOUR CONVENIENCE:

Gift Shop
The gift shop is located in the waiting room at the main entrance and is sponsored by the Hospital/Foyer Auxiliary. If you wish to have anything from the shop, please inquire at the business office.

Vending Machines
The vending machines are located on the main floor near the Business Office.


Library
Books, magazines, etc. are available to the residents upon request

Barber/Hairdresser
In-house hairdressing services are available.


Telephone
Residents may install private telephones in their rooms at their own expense.


T.V.
Residents may have cable hooked up in their rooms at their own expense. Three Channels are available if you bring in your own T.V. for a hook up cost of $5.00 Inquiry at Business Office.


Mail Delivery

etters can be mailed and received through the business office at the main entrance.

Public Washrooms
The public washrooms are located on the main floor near the Chapel entrance.


Visitor Parking
The visitor parking lot is situated West of the building and is accessible by the south driveway entrance off Highway 43.
